Lose Weight by Eating the Right Food

In today’s post we will expand more on the subject of weight loss and try to explain the importance of eating the right type of foods.
It is widely known that in order to lose weight you need to make sure that the number of calories you eat are less than the amount required by the body for normal functioning more activities. By doing this consistently and over a period of time you will start losing weight. In order to consume fewer calories you need to take care of two things. First is the size of your food portions and second is to eat the ‘right food’. Let’s see with some examples what we mean by the ‘right food’.
The right food to consume is the one that is healthy and can help you lose weight at the same time. Such foods are organic and natural, low in calories, low in fats and sugars and with lots of vitamins and essential minerals. In practice foods that satisfy these criteria are:
Fresh fruits and vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are full in fiber and vitamins. Fiber can help you maintain the feeling of fullness for longer periods and also helps digestion. Some fruits also enable the negative calorie effect which means that your body needs more energy (calories) to digest them than the calories found in the fruit; one such fruit is an apple. A normal size apple is about 80 calories but in order for the body to digest an apple it may spend 90 calories; thus you have a 10 calorie saving by eating just one apple.
Low fat dairy products
Dairy products are essential for a balanced diet because they provide the body with protein and calcium and at the same time assist in the breakdown of the fat cells. What is important though is not to consume full fat dairy products because these contain a substantial amount of fats, instead you can choose low fat dairy products. Several studies about the role of low-fat dairy products in diet showed that people who eat low fat dairy regularly (3-4 times per day) were able to lose more weight than people who did not include these items in their diet.
Many people are not aware of the benefits of raw nuts in losing weight (and fat). Raw and organic nuts (not roasted or salted) act as physical fat burners and can keep hunger away for a lot of time. A handful of nuts per day can certainly influence your weight loss positively.
Fish is among the healthiest foods on the planet. It is full of protein and low in calories and fats. It is highly recommended to have fish at least twice per week replacing red meat. Salmon, tuna and sardines are the best types of fish for weight loss.
Undoubtedly there are many other types of food that are excellent choices for a healthy and low fat diet. What is important is to keep a balance and try to consume foods from every food group and of course watch your food serving sizes.
